Chevron in Decorating ... still so hot!

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Have you noticed that this Chevron (zig zag) pattern is everywhere now, like in the subtle pattern of the floor tile, above?  Unless you've been hiding under a rock, I'm sure you have.  I love the look.... so modern and a little bit funky, too.  Here is a collection of floors, walls, accessories, etc.... so much chevron!

I like how there is just a touch of it in Khloe Kardashian's home office:

So soft and pretty:

I love the way this one from Lonny Magazine is paired with the ghost table:

If you haven't yet visited Houzz, where this next one is from, you must... I promise you'll love it!!!

Pink and red, another hot color trend:

Diane Bergeron

This one is not by Lilly Pulitzer, but it reminds me of their new furniture line:
LOVE the Ikat chair fabric with the chevron rug. I never noticed how often these patterns are mixed until I was writing this... you can see  it in the next few photos:
My absolute favorite is the oh-so-creative zig zag rug made out of sea glass, cool is that? I wish I were that talented (and patient).

This desk below is so cool! With a little painter's tape, patience, and work, anyone could do this. Here is a tutorial for this particular one, and more painted furniture here.

And another DIY for those very creative guys and gals.....this one by Adventures in Dressmaking impresses the heck out of me! Suzannah made this herself....WOW!

Thanks for reading!!

I love the first image...those black doors are incredible. Yeah, chevron is hot but I like it in small doses.

I always feel conflicted over staining as well - but in the end I measure the quality of wood and how I'm going to be using the piece and go from there. These look great. Thanks
